FAQ

Can I stick your full-colour stickers and letter stickers on cars, boats or other vehicles?

Yes!  We use top-of-the-range Sticker Vinyl.  We print Full-colour Stickers with Weather-resistant Ink. Our Letter Stickers are often used as Identification Stickers on boats.

What is a Sticker Letter?

Sticker Letters are cut from one piece of Sticker Vinyl so that the letters all have the same colour.  These Cut-out Letters have no background colour, but you can stick them to a surface as a whole.

I want a sticker to stick to the inside of my car windscreen.  How do I order these stickers?

In the “Design Tool'', choose a “Mirror Image”.  Please note: Check in the “Material Descriptions” whether the material you have chosen is suitable for Mirror Images.

I would like to stick my sticker to the inside of the rear windscreen in my car, but is it safe to do this if there is a demister in the glass?

It is not a problem: the sticker can stand up to the heating.  But be especially careful not to damage the wiring when you stick the sticker to the rear windscreen.

What is the best temperature to attach the stickers?

The surface you are attaching the stickers to must have a temperature of at least 5 degrees Celsius.  The higher the temperature, the faster the stickers adhere.

Is it easy to attach a sticker?

Yes, it is easy.  And you will always have our Sticking Guide on hand to help you through any doubts or difficulties and to ensure your sticker looks its absolute best.

How do I make an order on your website ?

Ordering on our website is quick and easy.  You can use our  user friendly ''DesignTool'' to design your products yourself.  Online, you will immediately see your price, which includes VAT, unless explicitly informed to the contrary.  You can put your products in the Shopping Cart yourself and whenyou are finished and got everything you need, you proceed to the Payment Pages.  Every step of the Order Process is simple and clear.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us!

I cannot upload my design because my file is larger than 10 megabytes

Just make your order with our ''Design Tool'', but use a design with a smaller file size and a slightly lower quality.  In the field “Comments”, let us know that you will provide the original file later.  Once the order has been accepted, you can send us the large file via www.wetransfer.com.

When will I receive my order?

The delivery times depend on which sending method you choose.  Under normal circumstances you will receive your package within seven to ten workdays.  All information about your order can be found here

Is it safe to provide my banking details via your website?

Yes.  Your details are treated with the utmost care and confidentiality.

My delivery arrived late...  Now what?

If your delivery failed to keep to the Terms of Delivery, contact us via the Contact Form.  Let us know your Reference Number, which you can find at the top of the Order Form.

How do I remove the stickers?

If a sticker has not yet adhered well, pull it off immediately.  The longer a sticker has been in place, the more difficult it is to remove it.  A sticker that has been through heavy weather conditions is also difficult to remove.  If a sticker does not come off easily, warm it lightly with an electric hair-drier.  Keep your hand on the surface the sticker is on.  When it is too hot for your hand, the surface has been warmed up sufficiently.  The glue will be supple and weak.  Slowly work the sticker loose and remove any glue residue with white spirits.

My VAT number is not being accepted!

Fill in the first letters of your country and then the digits, without spaces, commas or stops.  For example:

  • standard: 9 digits (block of 3, block of 4, block of 2 – e.g. GB999 9999 73)
  • branch traders: 12 digits (as for 9 digits, followed by a block of 3 digits)
  • government departments: the letters GD then 3 digits from 000 to 499 (e.g. GBGD001)
  • health authorities: the letters HA then 3 digits from 500 to 999 (e.g. GBHA599)

How do I send you my file?

Dr. Sticker works with the following file formats:
- EPS files (*.eps)
- Photoshop files (*.psd)
- Adobe Portable documents (*.pdf)
- JPEG files (*.jpg, *.jpeg)
- TIFF files (*.tif, *.tiff)

Full-colour images preferably have a resolution of 300 dpi on 100% of the format.  For large format printing, 150 dpi or even 75 dpi is sufficient, dependant on what distance they will be viewed from.  Ensure that the file is fully in CMYK colours.  Also take into account that PMS colours are transformed into CMYK as part of the full-colour printing process.  In many cases, there is a change in colour, because not all PMS colours are available in the CMYK format.

Use the following programs to create your file:

Adobe Illustrator
It is important that you transform the texts and pictograms in the file into paths, contours or outlines.  The original fonts will then no longer need to be sent.  Illustrator 8.0 EPS is the most reliable file format for designs in which photos, text, logos or combinations of these can be processed.

Adobe PhotoShop
PhotoShop files need to be delivered as Photoshop, PDF, EPS or TIFF files.  Use “JPEG – Maximum Quality” for your file.  It is important that your digital source is of a high quality and resolution.  Simply increasing the resolution of your image in Photoshop will not result in better print quality.

Certified PDF
The settings here are based on, among others, Enfocus-certified PDF technology.  Ensure that the fonts are included.

To ensure that there are no errors during the RIP process, it is important that you use Illustrator to once again open the exported PostScript document on the same work station.  It is possible that faults occur while you place or change the scale of the text.  It is also possible for mistakes to occur during the RIP process.  Transforming the text into paths contours or outlines will also become much simpler.  After any potential corrections have been made in Illustrator, save the file as Illustrator 8.0 EPS. Also save any high resolution photo files that are to be used in this manner.

Microsoft Programs
Save these files in the original file format or print the file with a PDF printer.  Are you using a special font?  We may ask you to e-mail that to us.

A scanned RGB image must not be “heavier” than 30 to 65 megabytes to ensure larger dimensions are not scaled.  During our RIP process, the resolution will automatically be changed to the optimal performance resolutions for the best printing result.

You are responsible for the quality of the files you supply.  Poor quality in the image you deliver to us is not a valid reason to disapprove of the finished product.

Is your file already grainy or pixelated on your screen?  Then your sticker will not look sharp when it is printed.  To check this, increase the size of your image or text on your computer screen until it is equivalent to the size you intend to use.  This way, you can double-check the quality will meet your needs.

If your file does not meet your needs, we will adjust it, but please note this service costs 60 EUR an hour.  Also, take into account a longer processing time due to our work on the file.
